Can you live with the idea of an empty drawer?

Here's a new year's experiment. Empty one drawer or shelf. Leave it empty.

Do the same with an hour in your calendar every week. Keep it unscheduled and available to you.

Create the openness now. Live with it a while. See what you really want to be there.

  1. Funny you should mention that. I emptied two drawers just this morning. They’re next to my bed and have been full of junk for years. Also, there was catnip at the bottom that I wanted to collect. Maybe I’ll leave one empty.

  2. It is definitely made harder with all those media messages promoting our interest in stuff.
Combat that bias by increasing your intake of ideas that make you love opportunity and the projects that serve your own goals more than the random stuff coming along.
